Congratulations to all 4 of our Diploma in Dance Education Students for passing their ISTD Modern Theatre practical modules this month and thanks to Vanessa, our Approved Tutor for guiding them through these tough examinations.
Well Done also to Lois who gained her Advanced 1 Modern with 90 and Dariana who was awarded Bronze Tap with 93!
We are especially proud to see that two of our successful Diploma students, now teaching staff, and who have been with Basingstoke Academy from a very early age, were some of Principal Tanya’s first students when she took over the school in 2003. She has watched over their growth and development over the years through all their grades and vocational examinations and is so pleased to see them now be successful in their their professional teaching studies.
Amber has worked for B.A.D. as an assistant and then teacher for a number of years, especially helping to develop our popular pre-school programme and has been key to number if our students gaining very good exam results in recent years.
Charlotte returned to us after spending 3 years at Wilkes Academy to graduate with a Diploma in Performing Arts. She has also been teaching and instrumental to recent exam success and last Summer represented us in Team England at the Dance World Cup in Portugal.
We find it very exciting and professionally fulfilling at B.A.D. that we can develop those students that really want a career in Performing Arts and here are just the latest examples. Watching our youngsters grow into competent young professionals makes everything worthwhile – including those that do not stay in the dance world – their dance education and experiences have a positive impact on their lives.
Charlotte will also be appearing in Aladdin at the Anvil this Christmas season as a professional dancer, alongside 8 of our younger students whilst Amber and the rest of the Team will be ensuring classes run as normal at the Academy up to the 14th December – RAD Ballet Exams on the 17th December of December for about 25 students too.
Don’t forget our Fire and Ice Christmas Party on the 8th December ! Ho! Ho ! Ho !
